Yesterday we visited Green Mountain Falls, CO to visit the kinetic sculpture Off the Beaten Path by Patrick Shearn. I wasn’t ready for just how dynamic it was even in the slightest breeze. Reminds me of a murmuration of starlings. Incredible artwork. It’ll only be up through October 19th.

Using #GNU as Assembler (not Assembly, but the Assembler) and ld Linker to spit out a working BMP gradient image.

Yeah, you read it right. I'm not using #Assembly to produce an image. I'm, instead, using Assembler directives and macros during compile-time to generate a binary file that happens to be a valid image (BMP) file.

That's right: the tool intended for #Nodejs hot-reloading, is being leveraged for GNU Assembly, which is itself being leveraged for compile-time instructions to produce a whole BMP image.

@ju la mia bisnonna - di cui non ho ricordi diretti, ma solo ciò che mi hanno raccontato di lei i miei genitori - era una donnina di cinquanta chili, che indossava sempre un grembiule scuro per non sporcare l'abito e che aveva sempre un "asabeso" in tasca da dare a mio papà, allora bambino. Non capisco perché il personale sanitario deve sempre partire dal presupposto che il paziente non capisce un cazzo. Se è 20 anno che faccio prelievi dalla mano fallo da lì. "Non prendo ordini dal paziente" e fai male, ascoltalo o ammetti dalla mano non sei capace (c'è chi lo fa candidamente, non succede niente, di solito chiamano ə collega e senza fare tutto sto casino).

Sono stanca di avere a che fare con questa saccenza, a volte anche violenza. In quasi due anni ne ho viste di ogni.

Però niente scimmiette, invece sono arrivate due cince...le cince di solito tornano a ottobre, ma immagino siano un po' confuse anche loro.

L'altranno a ottobre c'erano ancora le cicale.

No ma le zanzare invece stanno benissimo.

La leggerezza lavorativa di aver levato Instagram non si spiega. Preferisco di gran lunga esprimermi per scritto che perdere tempo nell'ideare video o caroselli che non guarda nessunə (statisticamente parlando la gente si ferma ai primi secondi è raro che qualcuno guardi un intero video, con attenzione poi). Sto facendo una scommessa notevole ma se funziona come sembra ne ho guadagnato anche in salute mentale (non sto scherzando).

L'ultima volta che ho fatto qualcosa del genere con pc di casa è stato più o meno 20 anni fa, avevo una linea fissa e ho usato dyndns.

Adesso la linea fissa non ce l'ho quindi devo per forza usare una sim...

I hear today is #GingerCatAppreciationDay, so here are two cats from my past: Puppy (the larger one, on the red blanket) and Tuna Toes.

Both were neighborhood strays, and thus outdoor cats. Over time I was able to convince Puppy to at least be an indoor/outdoor cat, but no such luck with Tuna Toes, who came into my life quite a bit later than Puppy.
